Third Grade Is A Unique Group!

Third graders are studying mosaics and their imagination thus far. They began the school year with a project that involved tearing and gluing tissue paper to mimic a mosaic and then embossed a leaf onto aluminum to create the centerpiece of the project...again the nature theme :)

Then we moved onto our imaginations and really let the creativity fly! The project was to blend at least 5 animals together to create a brand new species of animal. They could use any animal as long as it wasn't a mythical animal, or a cartoon animal (a.k.a. "Plankton" from Spongebob). Some of the end results were great and VERY creative. Unfortunately, my camera was a bit under the weather, so I was not able to get a lot of pictures (as the kids wanted to take them home).
