Third Graders are Tricking their Minds...

In third grade we've been learning about
perspective, optical illusions and mosaics.

We learned about 1, 2 and 3 point perspective. Then we made a simple 1 point perspective drawing that consisted of a road and telephone poles,
with emphasis on a horizon line and vanishing point.

We then began exploring optical illusions and created some very unique and interesting line designs with a bit of
optical dimension tied in...

The third graders also explored mosaics. We went into the computer lab and worked on a very small, yet time-consuming mosaic online. Then we played around with a magnetic board called "Mosaica"  that allowed for manipulation of tiles to create unique mosaic designs.

Then we made our own mosaics using templates and
cutting /adhering "stone tiles" to
create the overall final designs.
